Faux Metal with Alcohol Ink

Alcohol ink is such a great medium that allows us to really create some magic in our work. Recently I've used it to paint some plastic buttons to create a faux metal look to it. Isn't that cool? It's really very simple. Just use a brush and and some alcohol ink to paint on the surfaces. If you're not satisfy with it, simply just pour some blending solution on it and start painting again.Mix a few colours of alcohol ink to get a cool effect.

I've also tried to use alcohol ink to paint on metal embellishment to create a distressed look to it or to change it's colour to match my project. Try it. (Tip: Be careful not to get your hands stained with alcohol ink. It might take a while to get it off. Try wearing a plastic or rubber disposable glove).

Good Morning Irene! The button looks great. I'm gonna try it...I have a ton of buttons I 'inherited' from my mom's collection. I recently did the same thing using alcohol inks on poker chips. Very cool!!!

I love it when you get all inky, girl! Here's a hint on alcohol inks (Ranger and Copic) -- Purel Hand Sanitizer works really well to clean up your hands. I wish you were going to CHA. But I know I'll see your handiwork all over the show. :)
