Happy Jingles Mail Art

This is another Christmas Mail Art that I've created.

Here are the steps.
1) Use a pattern paper as the base of the card. Distress the edges with the scissors distressing technique and ink it with frayed burlap distress ink.
2) Cut out a rectangle piece from a pink card stock and distress it using the scissors distressing technique and ink it with brushed corduroy distress ink. Then add a layer of hand made paper on top of it. The third layer is a piece of square from a green pattern paper which had been stamped, distressed and inked with vintage photo distress ink. I've printed the Santa clip art and ink the edges using vintage photo distress ink. Paste it in the middle of the stamped circle.
3) The hinges had been created using "Creating your Faux Metal Pieces" technique. I've used some liquid pearls to add some detail to it.
4) Add another clip art on the lower right of the card. Dress it up with glossy accents and glitters (Stickles).
5) The address box had been stamped on a white card stock and cut it out. Ink the edges using frayed burlap distress ink and add some glitters (Stickles) to it.

6) The title had been created using a label maker.

2008 Christmas Mail Art

Here is another Christmas Mail Art to share.

Here are the steps to it.

1) Use a pattern paper as the base of the card. Distress the edges with the scissors distressing technique and ink it with black soot and brushed corduroy distress ink. Create a tag stencil and stencil on the right of the card using vintage photo distress ink.

2) Cut out a square piece from a white card stock and ink it with faded jeans, pine needles, vintage photo and brushed corduroy. Stamp an image on it using brushed corduroy distress ink. Then, use the "Water Distressing" technique on it to create the distressed effect.

3) Stamp the image using black solvent ink directly on it and paste it to the card. Hand stitch on it on the bottom and the right of it.

4) Add a die cut frame corner (ink it with vintage photo distress ink) to the upper left corner and add some glitters and stitches for details.

5) Add a flower to the upper left corner. I've also added a felt tag to it and the word "2008" had been create using a label maker.
6) The address box had been stamped on a white card stock and cut it out. Ink the edges using faded jeans and vintage photo distress ink.

The PACS 2008 classes!

I've promised to share little sneak peeks on my classes at The PACS 2008 this October. So here they are.

Creating Magic with Inks Class:



Feminine Puzzle Mini Album Class:

Hope these sneak peeks had got you all excited for the classes. For those of you who are attending the classes, do bring whatever embellishment that you think you'll love to use in the projects. I would suggest some chipboard shapes and alphas, quote stamps/quote stickers and buttons for the "Creating Magic with Inks" class and some chipboard hearts/crowns, blings, laces and ribbons for "Feminine Puzzle Mini Album". If you have some distress inks, do bring them too. Both classes are technique based, therefore, they are are not expected to be completed in class. However, if you all need any assistance in completing your projects or have any other techniques that you all would liked me to demo, I'll be available on 11th Oct's Crop Night. If you would liked me to demo, please bring along the supplies needed. I won't be able to bring any scrapbook supplies except my projects for the classes in this trip. My bags are over packed with Chloe's diapers....lol! I'm so excited over this trip and hope to see you all there!

Our Wii

This is a fun layout about our family's addiction over our new Wii. Select the song "Addicted" on my playlist and study this layout. This is such a fun way to interpret a layout. Since this layout is about a fun addiction. I want to create a funky or whimsical style layout with some twist of my own.

Here are the steps.

1) Use a dark brown card stock as the base of the page. Use the "Printing with Corrugated Paper" technique on the upper edge of the card stock.

2) I've used some left over of my K and Company Blue Awning pattern paper in this layout. Cut out a rectangle piece and distress it using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges with frayed burlap distress ink and paste it horizontally in the middle of the page. Randomly stamp, mask and doodle some circles on it.

3) Cut another rectangular piece with a scallop edge from the pattern paper. Attach an eyelet to each scallop. Ink the edges using black soot distress ink. Add a strip of rick rack horizontally over the pattern paper. Layer a thin strip of doodled blue card stock in the middle of it and hand stitch (zig-zag stitches) on one of it's edge. Paste the rectangular piece vertically on the page.

4) Use a piece of notebook paper and distress it using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using vintage photo distress ink and paste it as a layering mat under the small photograph.

5) The huge chipboard arrow had been distressed using the "Distress-your Chipboard using Water" technique and the word "Wii" are cut out from black card stock. I've used some floss to tie on it and added some doodling for more details.

6) Both photographs had been distressed using the scissors distressing technique and the edges had been inked using vintage photo distress ink.

7) The word "Our" had been cut out from a pattern paper and ink with black soot distress ink.

8) All the stars are chipboard which had been painted or covered in pattern paper. I've added doodling and crackle accents to it too. There are various hand stitching to add details to the circles and stars.

9) The skull is a grungeboard element which had been inked with black soot, pine needles and faded jeans distress ink. I've covered some of the diamonds with crackle accents. The word "caution" are done using a label maker and ink with black soot distress ink.

10) The journaling had been printed using computer and cut into strips. All the strips had been inked with vintage photo, pine needles and old paper distress ink.

It's been awhile that I've not created such a funky and fun page. Hope you all like it.

Distress your Chipboard using Water

This is a technique used in my latest layout. I've had a big piece of chipboard arrow and I want to do something else to it instead of painting it or covering it with pattern papers. Therefore I've thought to try this on it since this technique work on papers. I've inked the chipboard randomly using various colours of distress ink. Then I've sprinkled some water over it. The distressing effect is so cool. It makes the piece looks liked ages. I totally love that effect. Try it!

Merry X'mas Mail Art

This is another Christmas mail art that I've created recently.

Here are the steps.
1) Use a pattern paper as the base of the card. Distress the edges with the scissors distressing technique and ink it with black soot distress ink. Create a square stencil and stencil on the right of the card using vintage photo distress ink.

2) Distress the clip art or image using the scissors distressing technique and ink the edges using brushed corduroy distress ink. Paste it in slightly to the left on the card. Add some crackle accents to the image to enhance it.

3) I've stamped a border stamp on the bottom of the card using black solvent ink.

4) Ink the upper right of the image with some black soot distress ink and heat emboss a snowflake using some gold embossing powder on it. Highlight the snowflake using a white doodling pen and some glitters (Stickles).

5)Stitch a strip of cross-stitches on the left of the image.

6) Cut out and ink the Poinsettia clip art/image with black soot distress ink and paste it on the left of the earlier image. Add some crackle accents to enhance it.

7) I've added a white snowflake brad on the lower left of the card. I've also added some glitters (Stickles) to it for some bling.

8) The address box had been stamped on a white card stock and cut it out. Ink the edges using brushed corduroy distress ink.

I've more mail arts to complete. Hope you all like it so far.
