It's 40 weeks already!

Wow! I can't believed that Hiro is already 40 weeks old already! Due to the extremely hot weather in Penang this few weeks (40 degree C), Hiro is sheddding again. We've used the amazing "Furminator" on him again and it works liked magic and help to reduce a lot of flying loose furs around the house. He looks so much skinnier and thin now.

Today we've taken him for his bath at his usual grooming center and guess what, he has gotten an "angpow" from the store owner. It's not in the usual form but it's in a red small packaging with some treats inside. How cool is that? From next year onwards, I'm going to prepare some of these "angpows" for my friends' or relatives' furkids during Chinese New Year....lol!

Tomorrow, I won't be sharing any project on The Crop Spot as I'm taking a week off. I'll continue to post on the Crop Spot on the following Monday. I'll be sharing my last project using Swirlydoos February kit soon. Keep an eye for it.

Cherish The Moments

This is my third DT project using Swirlydoos Feb Kit, "From Venice With Love". I really love this Bobunny paper which is also included in this kit.

Here are the details to it.

To create the frame, I've stamped around it using a small border stamp (included in the kit) using distress ink. Later, I've inked it's edges with the same distress ink.

I've hand stitched around the edges of the square piece of pattern paper in the bottom of the layout.
Ink around the edges of the chipboard heart and add detail it with some rhinestones.

Add some flowers and pearls at the bottom of the layout.

I've stamped some butterflies on transparency using black solvent ink and cut it out. Fold up it's wings before attaching it to the layout.

Stamp a few squares using the stamps included in the kit with distress ink. Detail them with pearls.

I've also applied some flower rub-ons on the layout and ink around it with distress ink.

I've used a word rub-on to form the title.

Do you all see another two new colours of distress inks in this layout? I've used "Stormy Sky" and "Wild Honey". I have one more project to share using Swirlydoos Feb Kit. Do keep checking back for it.

Charming

This is another fast and simple layout that I've created using Swirlydoos February Kit, "From Venice With Love".

Here are some of the details.

I've painted the huge square with crackle paint and later hand stitch it onto the layout to secure it.
I've mixed a mini mister with some perfect pearls, distress ink reinker and water, to mist randomly on the layout.
I've stamped some clocks on the left of the layout using distress ink and dress it up with Stickles.
I've hand stitched some zig-zag stitches all around the photograph.
I've inked the heart with some distress ink and later sprinkled some water on it to create the water distressing effect. Later, I've detailed it with Stickles.
Use a crown masking template and mask a crown using distress ink on the pattern paper. Later, cut it out and attach it to the layout with foam adhesives. Dress it up with rhinestones and Stickles.
I've used one of the square stamp which is included in the kit to create some flowers for this layout. Just use the stamp to stamp on a white cardstock using various colours of distress ink and cut it out. Cut some slits around the square and flod up the petals before attaching it onto the layout.
I've inked the chipboard alphas which is included in the kit with distress ink and later cover them with glossy accents.

Hope you all like this simple layout. Did you all notice another two new amazing colours of distress inks in this layout? I've used the "forest moss" and "crushed olive" distress ink. I really love all of them and can't get enough of them...LOl!  I have two more projects to share using this kit. Keep an eye for it.

I'll start to go back to my normal creating groove this week after taking more than a week off (due to CNY celebrations). Hopefully, it will go smoothly. By the way, for those of you who wish to register for my classes in Kuala Lumpur next month, simply just click on the link on the lower right of my blog. Hiro @ 39 weeks!

Our husky puppy, Hiro, is now already 39 weeks old! He is going to be one in just a few months time. Our trip back from my in-laws with him was a pleasant one. He seems to enjoy the drive and took some short naps too. When we came back home, he seems to have that after a holiday trip syndrome liked most of us would have. He is so tired and did not eat well. But now, he has already recovered from it and is back to his usual self.

One thing that we've noticed about him during this Chinese New Year, is that he is not afraid of the sound of firecrackers liked most dogs would. He would ignore the sound and continue to do what he is doing, even if he is sleeping...lol! That's definitely a plus. My mom's dogs would always want to hide somewhere or want you to hold them when they hear the sound of firecrackers. I was afraid that Hiro would howl and started making weird noises when he hears the loud firecrackers sound.

I'll be posting another project on The Crop Spot on Monday. Do keep an eye for it.

Enjoy The Little Things

Time really flies! It's already the sixth day of the Chinese New Year celebration. I guess, in another glance of time, it will be over. The kids will be back in school soon.

Today, I wish to share with you all my first DT layout for Swirlydoos February Kit, "From Venice with Love". This kit is packed with gorgeous products from 7Gypsies, Creative Imaginations and Prima.

Here are some of the details to it.

I've used some rub-ons to add some details and the title to the upper right of the page.
I've attached some flowers on the bottom of the heart and the top middle of it.

I've added some die-cut flowers on stems to bring some heights to the flourishes. I've also decorated it with rhinestones and Stickles.

On the huge chipboard heart, I've used some crackle paint to paint it and ink it's edges with distress ink. Then, I've punch some holes all around it and use two strips of ribbons to weave on it. Tie a ribbon bow where two ends of the ribbons meet. Use some liquid pearls to dress up the heart.
Use the square stamps to stamp on a white cardstock with distress ink and cut it out. Ink around it with distress ink and add it to the bottom left and right of the layout with foam adhesives.

Hope you all like this layout and if you take a closer look on the distress inks that I've used on this layout you will noticed that it's one of the "NEW" colours, "Rusty Hinge", that had just been released during last Winter CHA. I really love all the new colours and can't wait to introduced them to you all through all my new projects and future workshops. I'll be sharing more projects with Swirlydoos kit soon.

My China Doll

This is a two page layout that I've created long time ago and had not shared it here before. Since it's Chinese New Year now, I think it's the best time to share it with everyone.

The pictures were taken during last year's Chinese New Year. Chloe gets to wear her very first "samfu". It's a traditional chinese clothes or costume. Her face is just a perfect fit for the clothes.

This layout features one of Prima's old line, "Peaches". I love how the colours resemble so much of the colours used during Chinese New Year celebration.

Below are some of the close-ups.

Hope you all like today's post and for those of you still celebrating Chinese New Year, wish you all had a prosperous golden tiger year!

Happy Monday at the Crop Spot!

It's the mini album week again at The Crop Spot! This week's mini album is created using Clear Scraps Abbie's Love Clear N Chip. It features the gorgeous Red/Black Collection by Jenni Bowlin. It's such a perfect line for this week's project which titled "2010". This is a mini album that I've created to write down my resolutions for 2010. Hope you all check it out and try creating one of this for yourself too! Have fun!

Happy Chinese New Year from Hiro!!

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year and also Valentine's Day! To those of you who are celebrating, "Gong Xi Fa Cai" and may you have an amazing time with your loved ones today!

Hiro is now with us at my in-laws. This is the first time that we've taken him for such a long trip. It's about an hour of drive from home. He is doing fine and enjoyed visiting with us. I bet everything would be fun for him as long as he is with us. So far he is behaving well. We'll be travelling back tomorrow. Wish us luck!
