This is my second project as the guest designer for Prima this month. I've always wanted to scrap about me being a Malaysian scrapper. I've noticed that I've been quite often misunderstood as a scrapper from other countries.
Since this layout is about me, I would hope to include more elements that reflect me on it. This of course would include loads distressing. Do try to study this page and click on the song "Find Yourself" at my song playlist on the right.
Here are the steps.
1) Use a Prima Angelique pattern paper as the base for this page. Distress the edges using the scissors distressing and the tear in technique. Include a huge tear in on the upper right of the page. Ink the edges using vintage photo and black soot distress ink. Add eyelets on the huge tear in and lace it using a twine. I've used a black pen to highlight some swirls around the pattern paper.
2) Cut out another rectangular piece from the Prima Angelique pattern paper and distress it. Ink it with frayed burlap distress ink and paste it on the left of the huge tear in.
3) Use a piece of Prima Pasties Note and distress it using the crinkling and inking technique. Paste it on the left of the page.
4) Distress the photograph using the "Distressing your Photographs using Hole Puncher" and the scissors distressing technique. Paste it in the middle of the page.
4) Distress the photograph using the "Distressing your Photographs using Hole Puncher" and the scissors distressing technique. Paste it in the middle of the page.
5) Mask an arch above the photograph using some black soot distress ink and hand stitch along the edges using the "Net Stitching" technique.
6) The word "Malaysian" are actually Prima stamp stickers which I've arranged along the arch. The word "scrapper" had been printed out from the computer and cut-out. I've used some foam adhesive to paste it to the page for some dimension.
7) Add a strip of Prima IOD Clear Tape under the photograph.
8) Add a piece of Prima Angelique chipboard button on the end of the huge tear in.
9) Cut a circular piece from the Prima Angelique pattern paper and ink it's edges using black soot distress ink and paste it on the left of the page.
10) I've cut out some swirls in black and paste it on top of the strip of clear tape. Add some stickles to it for details.
11) To create the huge flower, cut out a huge flower from a white card stock (use any flower as template) and stamp on it using some timber brown solvent ink. I've used the "Distress your Flowers with Punchers" technique to distress it and ink it with black soot distress ink. Curl the petals and add some Prima flowers to layer above it.
12) I've also added quite a few Prima flowers all around the swirls. Use some Prima Say It in Crystals flower centers to embellish it.
13) I've also added some fibers underneath the huge flower stretching vertically and horizontally.
This is a very meaningful layout to me and I hope through this layout, you all will know me more.
