Mom's Girl

This is an acrylic layout created using Clear Scraps acrylic XL shape and the gorgeous pattern papers by Far Flung Craft. The pattern papers are perfect for this photograph which was taken during Chinese New Year.

Here are the details.
I've cut out some flowers from the pattern paper to attach all over the layout.

I've cut out several layers of flowers using the pattern paper and ink their edges with distress ink. Fold up their petals and attach them together to the layout using a mini brad.

I've also added a crystal swirl among the flowers.

I've stamped on the left of the layout using some trees and plant stamps with black solvent ink. Later, I've decorate it with some red pearl gel pen.

To detail the edges of the acrylic base of this layout, I've used some pearl gel pen to doodle some dots on it. I've also stamped some small flowers using white solvent ink all around the edges.

Hope you like this simple layout. I'll be sharing my projects using Swirlydoos April's kit soon. Check back for it.

Happy Spring from Hiro!

Are you all enjoying Spring at this moment? Gorgeous flowers and trees everywhere. This week, we've noticed something that Hiro had done which he had never done before in the past. We are not sure if it's due to the season or what but we are very curious to find out.

As you all know, we keep Hiro indoors all the time and he is limited to a floor in our 3 storey home. What happened is, when everybody is so busy around the house, he suddenly walk to the interval between the stairs of going up and going down from his floor and started howling out loud as if he is calling for something. It's so loud to us because he howls directly to all the levels of our house through the stairs way. It's just liked the call of "Tarzan" to his animal buddies...lol! Everybody came running to see what's going on but he seems to be fine and normal! If any of your dog does that too, do feel free to share the stories here.

This past two months had been amazing months for me. First publications in two different countries! How awesome is that? Besides, Australia, Sweden is also another country that I have my work published for the first time. The name of the magazine is Scrapbooking m.m. I have five projects published in this magazine. If you're interested to take a look at my work in it. get yourself a copy if you're in the area that do carry this magazine. Hopefully someday, I'll be teaching in their show or expo too!

Fun Day Basket Album

Since it's Spring now, I would like to share this latest project of mine using an acrylic basket mini album which is one of Clear Scraps new release during last Winter CHA. I've used the fun spring papers of My Mind's Eye to create this album.

Here are some descriptions on each page.

I've used a Zig Painty marker to doodle on the acrylic handles to create the design and detail it with some liquid pearls.
I've used various ribbons to decorate the lower right of the handle.

To form the title, I've used some glittered alpha stickers.
I've also added an overlay at the bottom of the front cover.
I've painted a popsicle stick with some crackle paint to create the stem for the flower.
I've used one of the die-cut flower from the pattern paper to layer on top of a white paper flower and dress it up with pearl, Stickles and liquid pearls.
On Page 1, I've simply use one of the word tag and add it to the page. Decorate it with a small flower and some liquid pearls.

To create page 2, I've covered the page with a pattern paper from behind and then I've use a Zig Painty marker to draw a square on it. Later, I've layered another strip of pattern paper and add the photograph to it. I've added some circles, holder and Stickles to dress it up.

I've cut out part of the pattern paper to layer on this page and later add the photograph on it's right. Dress it up with flower and some photo corners.
For page 4, I've cover the page with pattern paper and later cut out a huge bird from the pattern paper to add to the upper left corner of the page. Add the photographs to the page and detail it with tag, flower and a small butterfly overlay.

Page 5 and six are rather similar. Just cut out a piece of pattern paper to layer on the page and add the photograph to it. Dress it up with circles, tags and flowers.

For page 7 and 8, also cut out pieces of pattern paper to layer on the pages. Detail them with photo corners and flowers.

This is a very simple project but I think it does the job of bringing up the "Spring Season" mood in me. Hope you all like it.
