Clear Christmas Ornament Card (Flower)

This is another version of my clear Christmas Ornament Card. I've tried not to stick with the traditional Christmas colours here. I've used various pattern papers and embellishment from Prima Marketing to create this card.
Here are the steps.
1) Cut out a circle from a transparency, acetate or acrylic sheets. (I've used transparency in my card above and you can create this card in any size you wish)
2) Ink the edges of the transparency using solvent ink. Apply the ink pad directly to the edges of the transparency at about 45 degree. (the colour of solvent ink depends on the colour that you wish for your card)

3) I've cut out some flowers, flourishes and pieces from Prima Angelique line of pattern papers to paste it to the card. Ink all the edges of the cut out pieces using distress ink. The rounded piece are paste from behind the card.
4) Add a strip of sheer ribbon across the cut out flowers and flourishes.
5) Add a Prima paper flower on the right of the card and attach a message tag to it too.
6) I've used Stickles to doodle a swirl on the background.
7) Add an eyelet to the top of the transparency and tie a ribbon/crafting wire/thread to it for hanging purposes.
I hope you all had enjoyed both of these tutorials and had created a version of your own. At this moment, I've doing some last minute packing for my trip to France. Hope to meet those of you, who are attending soon.

Christmas Clear Ornament Card (Poinsettia)

Happy World Card Making Day everyone! Here's one of the tutorials that I've promised to upload for everyone to try out today! It's a Christmas Clear Ornament Card. Isn't this cool! You can send it to anyone and the recipient can proudly show it off on their tree!!! No most mess of cards flying around while on display at shelves or tables. You could also create this to decorate your tree this year. It could be a one of a kind tree that's full of personal wishes to each and other in the family and friends. I've designed this card to include the substance of "go green". It's created using some recycled Christmas gift wrappers.
Here are the steps.
1) Cut out a circle from a transparency, acetate or acrylic sheets. (I've sued transparency in my card above and you can create this card in any size you wish)
2) Ink the edges of the transparency using solvent ink. Apply the ink pad directly to the edges of the transparency at about 45 degree. (the colour of solvent ink depends on the colour that you wish for your card)
3) Choose your favourite Christmas Gift Wrappers and cut out some images from it. (You can use any kind of Christmas gift wrappers (new or old) or you can use some Christmas pattern papers. Try using some old Christmas cards or print some clip arts online to use) I've used an old poinsettia Christmas Gift Wrappers that I've saved up from last year. I've cut out two poinsettia from the gift wrapper. This is normally possible with wrappers as most of the time, the images on it would repeat all over it. Ink the edges of the cut out images using distress ink.
4) Paste the first poinsettia on the lower right of the transparency.
5) Add a ribbon to the middle of the poinsettia and add the second layer of poinsettia on top of it. Curl the petals of the second poinsettia using a scissors and add some glitters (Stickles) to it. This will add a lot of dimensions to it.
6) Add a crafting wire to the card to hold the message tag.
7) I've use Stickles to doodle a swirl on the background.
8) Add an eyelet to the top of the transparency and tie a ribbon/crafting wire/thread to it for hanging purposes.
This kind of card actually has endless possibilities to it. Look around and see what you have and start having fun with it! Hope you all like this card. I'll post another clear ornament card to share in my next post. I would love to see what you all had come up with following this tutorial. Post your links here to share. What is Liquid Pearls?

I've received emails asking me about this product that I've used quite frequently in my recent projects. Therefore, I've decided to talk a bit about this product here. These liquid pearls are from Ranger Ink. It's a dimensional liquid with pearl paint. It's available in various colours and it's waterproof.

I used these liquid pearls to doodle, add dimensions and embellished most of my projects. It's just liked attaching self adhesive pearls but more versatile. You can even draw or doodle using it. I just love the fine flow tip that that the bottle comes with. Try it and you'll love it!

Happy Holidays Mail Art

This is another Christmas Mail Art to share.
Here are the steps to it.
1) Use a pattern paper as the base of the card. Distress the edges with the scissors distressing technique and ink it with pine needles and black soot distress ink.
2) Cut out a square piece from another pattern paper and ink it with frayed burlap distress ink and hand stitch around it.
3) Use a die cut tag to trace and cut out from a white card stock and ink it with faded jeans, pine needles, shabby shutters and frayed burlap. Then, use the "Water Distressing" technique on it to create the distressed effect.
4) Stamp the image using black solvent ink directly on it and paste it to the card. Outline the piece with a black pen and use an opal white liquid pearls to doodle around it too.
5) Draw a swirl on a black card stock and cut it out. Outline it with a white pen and use a silver liquid pearls to embellish it. Paste it to the left of the card.
6) Add a strip of scallop on the bottom border of the card and doodle on it using white pen and glitters (Stickles) for details.
7) Add a flower to the lower left corner. The address box had been stamped on a white card stock and cut it out. Ink the edges using faded jeans and old paper distress ink.

I've just bought a mini laptop and this post is my first post using it. This is such a light laptop and perfect to bring along during this trip. I'm still trying to get use to it small keyboard....lol!
