Good morning everyone! Today's layout features Marion Smith Designs gorgeous "Nirvana" collection and the Bloom Impressions tool. This is an acrylic base layout. I've used Clear Scraps 12 x 12 acrylic sheet to create this layout.
The crystal flourishes is by ZVA Creative.
This huge flower is actually created using a few small flower layers and the bloom impressions tool. Below is a simple step by step tutorial on it.
Step 1: Get a few (about 5 or 6 ) regular paper flower layers and cut them to separate their petals.
Step 2: Mist the petals with the color that you want and put them onto the bloom impressions tool. Gently give them a twist on the tool and take them out to dry. This will give them a nice curve shape.
Step 3: Cut out a medium circle from a scrap cardstock or pattern. (Note: the bigger the circle the bigger the flower) Attach the petals onto the circle as shown above. Start from the outer edges and move towards the middle of the circle as you attach them in layers. Remember to alternate the position of the petals in each layer to get a beautiful bloom.
Step 4: Lastly, just add a flower center to it. I've used some stamens and a beautiful rhinestone button my Marion Smith Designs. In my layout above, I've also added some sparkle to this flower by applying some gold glitter paste onto it.
Try this technique in your next project! Have fun!
