Stamping on Felt

This post that has been triggered by a reader who had emailed me after reading my last post about "Net Stitching on your Felt". She saw that picture there and ask me, "Did I stamped on my felt too?". I said "yes!". The best and most funniest part is that, in her last email, she said that I'm one crazy but very creative scrapper! LOL!
I guess with this email, I'm guessing that stamping on felt is not a normal thing for most scrappers to do. LOL! From now on, I want you all to try stamping on some felt. I would recommend you to use solvent ink and rubber stamps to stamp on felt. This is what I've done in my recent card. I must admit that it's also not my first time doing it.

Net Stitching on your Felt

Recently I've got loads of fun felt stuffs from Blueyedezines and they're so fun to work with. I've actually used one of the oval shaped felt from their Fetalicious Self Adhesive Frames series. Do you ever wonder what you could do to cover up the raw edges on the sides of those thick felt pieces on your projects?

I've used the "Net Stitching" technique to create a frame for it which also covers up the raw edges. I think it looks kinda cool and adds that cool layer of dimensions to your project.

Expression ATCs (Transparency)

Here are some ATCs that I've created for a Ett Trykk's August issue. These are such fun and funky ATCs.

Here are the steps.

1) Radiant ATC
I've used a Basic Grey pattern paper for it's background. Create a piece of layering using the "Reverse Look of Bubble Wrapper Printing" technique and ink it using brushed corduroy distress ink. Mask a flower on lower right using fired brick distress ink. Stamp a wording image using brushed corduroy distress ink. Cut out a piece of transparency the same size as the ATC. Paint the edges using a red acrylic paint. Stamp the images using jet black and olive green solvent ink. Use a white gel doodling pen to add details. Add the flower and the printed vellum title. Attach both the background and the transparency together using an eyelet and embellish it with a ribbon.

2) Stylish ATC
I've used a Scenic Route pattern paper for it's background. Create a piece of layering using the "Reverse Look of Bubble Wrapper Printing" technique and ink it using weathered wood distress ink. Mask a flower on upper right using spiced marmalade distress ink. Stamp a wording image using frayed burlap distress ink. Cut out a piece of transparency the same size as the ATC. Paint the edges using an olive green acrylic paint. Stamp the images using jet black and white solvent ink. Add the flower and the printed vellum title. Attach both the background and the transparency together using an eyelet and embellish it with a ribbon.

3) Glamorous ATC
I've used a Ki Memories pattern paper for it's background. Create a piece of layering using the "Reverse Look of Bubble Wrapper Printing" technique and ink it using tattered rose distress ink. Mask a flower on upper right using pink pigment ink. Stamp a wording image using tattered rose distress ink. Cut out a piece of transparency the same size as the ATC. Paint the edges using a pink acrylic paint. Stamp the images using jet black and timber brown solvent ink. Add the flower and the printed vellum title. Attach both the background and the transparency together using an eyelet and embellish it with a ribbon.

4) Dainty ATC
I've used a Ki Memories pattern paper for it's background. Create a piece of layering using the "Reverse Look of Bubble Wrapper Printing" technique and ink it using tattered rose distress ink. Mask a flower on lower right and stamp a wording image using the same distress ink. Cut out a piece of transparency the same size as the ATC. Paint the edges using a blue acrylic paint. Stamp the images using jet black and white solvent ink. Add the flower and the printed vellum title. Attach both the background and the transparency together using an eyelet and embellish it with a ribbon.

Vintage ATCs

Here are some vintage ATCs that had been published in Ett Trykk, June 2008 issue. I've used lots of inking on each ATC here. To get some free vintage images to play with, check out the link below.

Here are the steps to each ATC.

1) "Love" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress inks. Attach a piece of small card stock to the back ground and stamp some quotes using various tones of distress ink all over. Add the two pieces of vintage images and stamp some images on the bottom of the ATC. Stamp and heat emboss the word "love" and add some final embellishment ie. flower and eyelets.

2) "Explore" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress ink. Mask a scallop circle to the background using distress ink and stamp some words and images to it as well. Add the two pieces of vintage images and stamp some images on the bottom and right of the ATC. Stamp and heat emboss the word "explore" and add some brads to embellish it.

3) "destination unknown" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress ink. Mask a rectangle on the background to create some depths. Add the three pieces of vintage images and stamp some images on the bottom and upper right of the ATC. Stamp and heat emboss the word "destination unknown" and add a flower to it.

4) "Sail Away" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress ink. Add the two pieces of vintage images and stamp a frame or journal box image on top of it. I've also stamped some images on the left and bottom of the ATC. Stamp and heat emboss the word "sail away" and add a flower to it.

5) "Friends" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress ink. Mask a square on it to create some depths. Add the two pieces of vintage images and stamp some images on the top and right of the ATC. Stamp and heat emboss the word "friends" and add some final embellishment ie. flower and lace.

6) "Cherish" ATC

Distress all card stocks and vintage images using the scissors distressing technique. Ink the edges using distress ink. Mask some scallop circles to create depths. Attach the first piece of vintage image and stamp another image on top of it. Then, add the second piece of vintage image (little girl) to it and stamp some images on the bottom and left of the ATC. Add the final piece of vintage image (a stamp). Stamp and heat emboss the word "cherish" and add some final embellishment ie. flower and staple.
