As promised, this is my first project using Queenscraps March Kit. This will be Queenscraps's last kit and it's definitely yummy!!! Full of Making Memories Paperie Mocha gorgeousness!!! Get it while it's still there!!!
Here are the steps to it.
1) Use the blue card stock included in the kit as the base for this layout. Cut out the corners on the upper and lower left of the card stock. Then, use a scrap paper to line against the upper, left and lower edges and mask it with weathered wood and black shoot distress ink. This will create a frame.
2) Cut a rectangular piece from the "Flocked Brocade Stripe" pattern paper and paste it on the upper half of the page. Ink it's edges with black soot distress ink.
3) Cut another rectangular piece from the "Toile" pattern paper and distress it's edges using the scissors distressing technique. Ink it with vintage photo distress ink. Cut up part of the pattern paper on the upper right corner and tear in to distress it. Ink it with distress in. This will create an insert for the photograph later. Paste this piece on the middle right of the page.
4) Hand stitch a circle on the layers of pattern papers.
5) Use one of the "Mocha" journaling pages to layer on the left for journaling.
6) Distress the photograph using the scissors distressing and tear in technique and ink it with distress ink. Paste it on the layers above.
7) Cut out a strip from the "Floral" pattern paper using a decorative scissors and punch a row of small holes on it. Ink it's edges with distress ink and paste it on the bottom of the page.
8) Cut out another strip from the white card stock included and punch a row of medium holes on it. Paste it slightly overlapping the strip above on it's upper edges. Hand stitch some zig-zag stitches on the right and left of the strip.
9) Add a TH's journaling tickets which is included in the kit on the lower left of the layers and hand stitch on it. Add some mini brads on the bottom of it.
10) Stamp on the lower left corner of the journaling page. (Recognise that stamp?)
11) The word "eyes" and the dots on the upper right of the page are actually American Crafts Thickers which are included in the kit.
I actually like how this page turns out. Not my norm but I love the simplicity of it. Hope you all like it too.
