Adventure Card

It's my Birthday!!! I'm so happy to be able to create a card with the stamps that I've designed for Queen Kat Designs today! It's an "Adventure" card. Who do you think I would send this card to? A boy or someone going on a trip?...lol! Actually neither both. I'll be sending it to someone who has been fighting some illness for sometime. I reason why I use the word "Adventure" is because I think life is really an adventure for all of us. It has it's ups and downs and how bad or good it is would really depends on how we chose our directions. This is a card that I hope would encourage her to move forward and be hopeful in life.
Here are the steps.
1) Use a blue card stock as the base for this card. This is not an open up card. Just cut a rectangle piece of it and ink it's edges with weathered wood distress ink.
2) Cut another piece of white card stock (white a scallop on the right and punch some holes on the left) and a strip of pattern paper. Ink the edges of the pattern paper with vintage photo distress ink and paste it on top of the white card stock.
3) To create the center piece, simple just cut out a piece of white card stock and use a self created masking template (ring masking template) and start masking using faded jeans, pine needles, vintage photo and brushed corduroy distress ink. Use the "Water Distressing" technique on it and let it dry. Stamp the "Adventure" stamp on it using a black solvent ink and highlight it with some white gel pen. Hand stitched this piece onto the white card stock and pattern paper.
4) Paste the white card stock onto the blue card stock. Do not glue it down entirely. Only the edges as we want to create a pocket. Hand stitch the left of the white card stock with some yarn.
5) Add an inked (faded jeans distress ink) die cut flourish to it and some flowers.Dress it up with some liquid pearls and Stickles.
6) Add a strip of ribbon at the bottom of the card.
7) Create a pull out tag by cutting out another piece of white card stock. Ink the edges and all over with brushed corduroy and vintage photo distress ink. Use a background stamp and frayed burlap distress ink to stamp on it. Then, I've used the "Compass" stamp and black solvent ink to stamp on the lower right corner of it. Add a decorative paper clip to it.
Hope you all like this card that I've created. Don't forget to leave your comment on the "giveaway" post if you want to stand a chance to win the stamps. Spread the word around. The winner will be announced on Dec 16.
