Paris

This week is my off week from The Crop Spot. Therefore, I've chose to share with you all another project of mine here.

This is a layout created using Stamp Enjoy beautiful stamps and Clear Scraps acrylic large bracket. The papers used on this page is by Toga. I love the colours and designs of their papers and if any of you knows them or work for them, tell them I would be so willing to guest design or do a feature for them on my blog.

Here are the details on it.

I've actually used a strip of velvet paper to create the film strip look on the layout. To further detail it, I've added dots of pearl pen by Viva Decor and some mini brads on it.

I've used a small piece of metal sheet and scrape on it randomly using a refiner. Later, I've put it through an embossing machine without any embossing folder. This will flatten out the metal sheet and give this smash crinkled texture and look to it. Isn't that cool?

I've stamped the beautiful butterfly from Stamp Enjoy onto the pattern paper and cut it out to attach to the layout. I've also stamped the clock face onto a cardstock and cut it out to attach to the layout. For dimensions, I've folded up the butterfly's wings and use pop dots or foam adhesives to attach the stamped clock.

I've used the "Distress Ink Flower" technique to create the flowers on the layout.

On the background, I've stamped a texture image using the texture stamp by Stamp Enjoy and later, use the "Water Distressing" technique on it. I've also used the "Extreme Punching" technique to distress the photograph and later ink it with distress ink.

On the top left of the layout, I've added a strip of lace which I've put a metal buckle through it.

I've used another journaling space stamp by Stamp Enjoy to create a journaling space on the layout.

On the huge acrylic bracket, I've first stamped on it using a texture stamp by Stamp Enjoy and some black solvent ink. Later, I've put it through my Sizzix Big Shot with an embossing folder. Then, I've ink it's back with alcohol ink and use a white solvent ink pad such as Tsukineko Staz On Opaque cotton white, to lightly dab on the embossed images. I've also punched some holes and attached some eyelets on it.

I've used some fabric chipboard alphas to create the title. I've inked them with distress ink first.

I remember one of you were asking me about a layout on scenes or travel pictures and ask if I could try to design one with about 3 to 4 pictures on it. This layout is based on our trip to Paris and it has 4 pictures on it.

Hope you all like this layout and use some inspirations from it in your this week's projects. Happy Monday!

It's Hiro's time again!

This week, Hiro is still excited over his new toys. He has been playing with it a lot and is enjoying the his new companion. After being spoilt through last weekend, we have a little problem of him being picky over his food but he is now back to norm.
However, every night, he would expect some kind of treats fun as his night activity time. We are always trying to create some difficulty for him to get his treats. This makes it more interesting and fun for him.

The Open Air

Today, I would like to share with you all the above mini album which I've created using the stamps from my newest DT, Stamp Enjoy! This mini album is also created using Clear Scraps new acrylic 6x6 regular mini album and a small acrylic flower. It also features the gorgeous paper line, Meiji by Far Flung Craft.

Here are some of the pages in this mini album.

I really love the clarity of this mini album. This is the magic of using acrylics. The beautiful papers adds so much colours and patterns to it. I've also tried to showcase the stamps in various different techniques and ways. Hope this mini album inspire you all in someway.

Some of you had emailed me asking whether I'm a DT of Far Flung Craft. I'm not a member of their DT. The owner of FFC had been so kind to give me some of their papers to play with and I've returning the favour by featuring them on some of my projects. In fact, I've done that numerous times with some other companies. If you are a brand owner or company and wish to work with me in featuring your products, feel free to contact me.
This week, I've been experiencing very bad internet connections due to some fault at the service provider end. I hope things will resume to normal soon and I could blog more easily. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Soulful Music

This is my last layout using Swirlydoos May's kit. The inspiration for this page is clearly from the paper line that are included in the kit. This layout is about Ryan dancing with an imaginary music in his mind.

Here are some details.

I've added a strip of red pattern paper first and then layer a strip of music notes overlay on top of it.  Later, I've attached another strip of blue die-cut sticker on top of it and add a round die-cut sticker tag at it's right end.

I've detailed most of the die-cut tags with glass brads.

I've also added some distress music notes rub-ons on the layout.

I've used the die-cut decorative scroll to pull some attention to the photograph. I've painted the first layer of the scroll with white acrylic paint and later decorate it with a red pearl pen. I've ink the second layer of the scroll with distress ink and later cover it with glossy accents.

I've used the sticker tag to form the title on the layout.

Due to my tight schedule with the upcoming teaching trip, I'll be taking a month off from designing with Swirlydoos kit and will continue with their July's kit. I'll be sharing some projects that I've created for one of my new DT, Stamp Enjoy, soon. Do check back for it.

Hiro is One this week!

As most of you might have known, Hiro had just celebrated his first birthday on 21st May. He is One now! Above are some pictures taken during the celebration. We've got the whole family a party hat each and Hiro's hat has the word Happy Birthday on! It's extremely difficult to get him to wear the hat. Whenever we put on him, he will shake the hat off his head. It does takes some time for him to finally give in and wear the hat....LOL!
We gave him some of his favourite treats during the celebration but his best present will be the the little red toy puppy in the picture above. He likes it and it's liked he has a new companion from now on. Isn't that cute or what? Thank you so much for those of you who had sent your wishes to Hiro. He loves you all too!

Eyes

Thank you so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes to Hiro! I did actually read to him every single wish and I bet he loves it! Anyway, today, I would like to share this third layout that I've created using Swirlydoos May kit. It's a layout featuring Hiro too!

Here are some details on it.

I've used some Clear Scraps mini acrylic puzzles to put around the photograph and only remove two pieces of it to showcase his eyes.
The flowers are created using the "Distress Ink Flower" technique and later added to the layout using some glass decorative brads.

I've added a sticker tag and enhanced it by adding Stickles to it's edges.
The two remaining mini acrylic puzzle pieces had been added to the lower right of the layout. I've decorate all the acrylic puzzle pieces by adding pattern paper to them, stamping on them or adding Magic Mesh to them.
I've added a bunch of sticker tags on the left of the layout and secure them with yarn and a brad.
I've also hand stitch some stitches on the left and top edges of this layout.
I've also used Tim Holtz idea-ology Concerto masking template and mask the row of music notes on the background using distress ink.

I'll finish posting my last project using Swirlydoos next week. Tomorrow, I'll be sharing some pictures taken during Hiro's birthday celebration! Hope you all have a fun and scrappy weekend!
