Masking using "Masquepen"

I've received a question through email regarding a technique used on one of my Clearscraps ornament. I've said that I've used a "Masquepen" to create the masking template for that ornament. What is a "Masquepen"?

It's a kind of translucent masking fluid. It comes in a bottle with super fine nib to ease the doodling or creating your masking design.

Here are the steps in using "Masquepen" for masking.

1) Simply just create your masking design on any surfaces such as paper, acrylic, glass, leather or even finished wood. I've used it on one of my Clearscraps acrylic project in the picture above. Let it dry completely.
2) Then, in my picture above, I've stamped on it using various alcohol inks. If you're doing your masking on other mediums, you can use watercolours, acrylic paints, glimmer mist, inks etc. Let it dry.
3) Gently using your fingers, rub away the translucent liquid of "Masquepen" and your masked image will reveal.
This is such a cool product that allows loads of versatility in your masking technique. Try it!

Love this Irene! I have used a mask with watercolors but hadn't thought to use it in scrapbooking. Great idea!

I love using this technique. I haven't found a container with so thin nip though :( ...and mine is pink...but I love it! Great work as always! :)
