Gesso and Acrylic Paint to Create Textures

This is a technique which I've used on a chipboard embellishment in one of my layout. I wanted to create a dimensional look on the topiary chippies. Therefore, I experimented it with some white gesso and acrylic paint.


Here are the steps for this technique.


1) The supplies needed for this technique are some chipboard pieces, white gesso, some metallic acrylic paint and a sponge.


2) Apply the white gesso onto the surface of the chipboard piece using a sponge. Apply the gesso generously to get the dimensional effect. Use the dabbing motion when you apply the gesso. Let it dry.


3) Use a brush and paint a layer of metallic acrylic paint on top of the gesso surfaces. This will give it a metallic finish look.
