1 & 1 Chemistry

It's time for another Tim Holtz products inspired layout! This layout is created using Tim Holtz idea-ology papperie, Shabby Chic paper stack. I've also used some grungeboard elements, alcohol ink, trim and more on this layout.

Below are some details on it.
These flowers are created using the "Multi Element Flower" technique.

I've used some grungeboard elements in the close-up above. I've ink it with distress ink and add details using the "Distress Stickles for textures" technique on it. I've also used the negatives of the grungeboard elements as stencil to ink some flowers with stems on the background. Notice that I've used a small fragment charm as a photo holder here.

I've hammered the metal numbers with Tim Holtz texture hammer and later paint it with some alcohol ink before sanding it. The grungeboard "&" is inked with distress ink and later stamped on using Ranger archival ink. Then cover it with Glossy Accents.

I've printed out the word "chemistry" using a computer and later cut it into different lengths to create a more interesting look.

In the close-up above, I've used a huge flourish grungeboard element to create this handle. I've secure it with mini brads. Before securing it to the layout, ink it with distress ink and apply some perfect pearls on it for that metal look.

I've used some die-cut negatives to stencil some flowers on the background of this layout. Then, to create the butterflies, simply just use some grungeboard mini butterflies and ink around it's edges with distress ink. Fold up their wings before attaching them to the layout. Detail them with some liquid pearls.

Hope you all find this layout inspiring and try out some of the techniques that I've shared. Have a great weekend!

  4. This is gorgeous! As all of your creations are! However, I have to ask, what do you do once you have created your layouts? Do you put them in a scrapbook? Or frame ones like this one? You have a lot of 3-D stuff there! I would hate to smash it all trying to fit it into a scrapbook! Just curious!

  5. Hi Erin,

I do store most of my layouts in albums. But for certain bulkier pages, I would prefer to put them into page protectors and later store them individually in a rattan basket or a box. Of course, all my albums and pages are displayed standing up. Only certain special layouts will be framed using custom made shadow boxes.
