This is another technique that I've came up with while playing with crackle paint. I think most of you knew that crackle paint would easily fell off from acrylics when it starts to crack and dry. What I did was when the crackle paint starts to dry and crack, quickly apply a layer of glossy accents on top of it. It will give a very cool distressed look to your acrylic and add more textures to it too if some of the crack pieces flows with the glossy accents.This is such a happy discovery for me as I love all my projects to look distressed even on my acrylics!

This looks amazing! Did you add the color to the crackle paint? Or put it on underneath? Or over top the paint?

ReplyDeleteApply the Weathered Woood crackle paint first onto the acrylic. When it starts to crack and dry, apply a layer of glossy accents on top of it. Crackle paint is a medium which already has colour on it and it will crack when it's dry. You don;t need any other crackle medium.
