I've actually used this technique quite a number of times already but I think it's even more fun when using it on a die cut pattern paper. I know that die-cut pattern paper can be very challenging to work with and we try not to cover the gorgeous design on it. Therefore, actual layering on top of it would not be a very good choice.
Therefore, instead of layering another huge piece of pattern paper on top of it, I've used the edges of a scrap as template and start masking using distress ink, all around the edges of the die-cut pattern paper. This would create an instant frame/ layer to your page. Fast and easy!
This is great! I'm going to give this one a try some time! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuper amazing idea. I have alot of projects I could use this technique on. Thanks for sharing this.

ReplyDeleteIrene...thanks so much for the inspiration. I love this idea...and it made me think that I could use this same technique to dress up a punched edge from a border punch too! So many possibilites. I appreciate the technique posts that you do -- it just gets my creative juices going as I try what you have done...and then have the confidence to try something else too. Appreciate all the time and effort you put into sharing your process...I know it adds to the time commitment -- especially after all the time and detail tha tyou put into your projects -- so I wanted to say a special "thank You!" because I come visit often and try almost EVERYTHING you show us. Have a great weekend.
