Because You're

Here's what I've been doing after I've finished my last fairy tag. This is a layout about Ryan being a prince to me and his dad. I've always wanted to challenge myself in creating a black and white layout. I've actually thought of using a black and white photograph of Ryan but I just can't resist to try the effect with a colour photograph instead. I think it worked out quite well.

Here are the steps to it.

1) I've used the
"Printing with Corrugated Paper" technique to created the visual matting on the right of the photograph.

2) I've also used the
"Dual Tones and Layer Stitching" technique on the circular curve in the background. I've actually masked and stamped the outer layer of the curve.

3) Since I don't have many pattern papers in Black and White. I just have to create them. I've created the whole border strip on the bottom of the page. I've even created all the chipboard circles and the photo corners. They're painted, stamped, layered and doodled.

4) I've also created that crown myself. I've been wanting to sue some of the Maya Road's crowns and tiara's chipboard but could not find it. Therefore, I just have to create it myself using heavy card stock and add some bling and stamping to it. I've also glossed it.

5) All the flowers and flourishes are hand doodled on white and black card stock and cut it out. They're attached onto the layout using some foam adhesive for dimensions. The huge flower is created out of corrugated paper and transparency.

6) The circle journaling on the top right of the layout had been created using Microsoft Words and later cut and paste onto a transparency using foam adhesives. The transparency had been painted and doodled on the edges and stamped using solvent ink.

This had been a very difficult challenge for me as most of you know how much I love to play with colours. Hope it will inspire some of you to try it out.
