Happy Birthday Hiro!

The day is finally here! 21st May! It's Hiro's first birthday! This is a post to celebrate his birthday today! We'll be celebrating with him in a little while with party hats and birthday presents! I just wish there is a bakery here which do bake cakes that are suitable for dogs!! Anyway, I'll update this post with some pictures that we hope to capture during the celebration.

In the meantime, here's Hiro's first birthday ecard which is from some of his Brazilian friends. Thanks to Tony, Nanny, Jack and Valeria for sending him this card!

Here's another ecard! Thanks Chrys!
If you wish to say "Happy Birthday" to Hiro or send him an ecard, simply just post it in the comment section here! If it's an ecard, you could post a link here and if you do create a picture card just like the one above, you could email it to me and I can also add it in this post to share with everyone!

So, come and help me celebrate this wonderful day by sending tons of wishes to Hiro! He would definitely love to hear from all his friends around the world!

Happy Birthday Hiro!!

Blissful

This is my second layout using Swirlydoos May kit. The inspiration for this layout mainly came from the feathers that are included in the kit.

Here are the details of it.

I've added a strip of beaded trim under the photograph.

I've used some alpha stickers to create the title on the tag. I've attach the tag using a decorative brad.
I've added a huge flower on the left of the layout and attach some feathers on top of it. Decorate the feather with some pearls.

I've cut out a circle scallop piece from the velvet paper which is included in the kit and later cut out another circle piece from a pattern paper to add on top of it. Then, I've hand stitched around the circle.

I've used cut out strips from the velvet paper and use the pleat folding technique to create the circle flowers. I've attached it to the layout using some decorative brad.

I'll continue to share more projects using this kit soon. Are you all following my mini album tutorials at The Crop Spot? If you all have any questions at all, feel free to email me or post it at the comment section.

I'm feeling much better today after a box of kleenex and hopefully I will be 100% back to normal in a day or two days time. Thank you very much for all the well wishes and kind words! I know I can count on you all for some love!

Happy scrapping!

Ready for a Bright Mini?

Ready for another week long tutorial at The Crop Spot? This mini album is created using Maya Road chipboard album and features the gorgeous line, Kioshi, by Basic Grey. It's a very colourful mini album and sure to "glow" up any one's day!

There are various techniques used in creating this mini album including my first experience in using micro beads! Hope you all follow along the tutorials and have fun playing along! All products used to create this mini album could be found at SBSRUS. Have fun shopping and scrapping!

I'm actually down with a cold right now. I'm always the last one to get the sickness from the family...sigh... Tomorrow I'll continue to share more projects using Swirlydoos May kit. Keep an eye for it.

One More Week to One!

I just can't believe that Hiro is going to be 1 so soon! He is born on 21st May 2009. By next Friday, he will officially be 1! We'll definitely buy a party hat for him and a cute birthday present!

I think I've not shared any fierce picture of Hiro before. Here's one that we've captured when he is angry and annoyed. I bet some of you might think twice about him being cute after this picture...lol! But I think anyone or any animals will look very different when they are angry.

I was thinking, since he has so many of you as his fans all over the world, I would celebrate his birthday by posting a Hiro's birthday post here next Friday! Feel free to post some wishes for him or even links to ecard etc. I will try my best to read every single wish to him...heehee. So, make sure you all check back here on 21st May and join in the celebration!

Beautiful Melody

Sorry everyone! I was going to post this yesterday but I had a little incident with my teeth and ended up going to the dentist. Now I have to chew using the right side of my teeth only for two days. But I'm glad to have it taken care of before my next teaching trip to Singapore!

Anyway, here's my first layout using Swirlydoos May kit, "La vie an Rose". This is a beautiful kit which features the gorgeous pattern papers from Creative Imaginations, Heidi Swapp, TPC and SEI.

This is a layout about Chloe and her grandpa. It's a layout that I've created as a gift to my dad for this upcoming Father's day.

Here are the details to it.

I've detailed each flower with distress ink, rhinestone and Stickles.

I've used a flourish masking template with distress ink to mask the flourishes on the background of the layout.
I've stamped some text script using black solvent ink on the bottom left of the layout.
I've cut out only half of the curtain from stage pattern paper and attach it to the right of the layout. I've also detailed it with Stickles.

I've used one of the sticker tag as the title for the layout. I've mat it with a piece of the pattern paper and outline it with Stickles.

I've added a strip of the beaded trim on the bottom of the layout.

Hope you all like this layout and try creating one to celebrate this coming Father's Day! Feel free to try reading this layout using your heart!
